How every price gets here
Tool Register lists what business AI tools cost, read from each vendor's own website. This page explains exactly how, and what we don't do.
1. We read the vendor's own pages
For each tool we save its homepage, pricing page and the pages that state terms, security and company details (terms of service, privacy policy, trust or security page, integrations, changelog). Never a reseller, a review site or a guess. Pages that block automated reading are skipped and the tool shows "not read".
2. Every fact quotes its line
Each price, limit and claim is stored with the exact sentence from the vendor's page. A price is accepted only if that sentence is on the page and contains the number. If a page doesn't say something, we show "Not stated". When two of a vendor's own pages disagree, we show both.
3. Every section is dated
Each tool page shows the day its prices were read. Prices are re-read regularly; changes are recorded with the date we saw them.
4. Rankings follow one rule
Category pages order tools by what they cost at a typical monthly volume for that category (computed from published plans, allowances and overage rates), then by starting price. No one pays to be listed, moved or removed.
What we don't do
- We don't test products. We report what vendors publish.
- We don't copy reviews or ratings. We link to G2, Trustpilot, Reddit and Product Hunt instead.
- We don't audit security claims. SOC 2, HIPAA and similar answers are the vendor's own words, quoted.
- We don't estimate hidden prices. "Contact sales" stays "Not published".
Found a wrong price?
Every price links to the page it came from. If a vendor changed its pricing and we haven't caught it yet, the next read will. The full data is free to download on the data page.
